We recognize the power of role-modeling. We are diligent in our efforts to set an example of respect for all. We are unerring in our attention to safety from physical and emotional harm. We pledge to maintain a non-punitive approach to growth and development. We recognize that privacy and confidentiality are essential, and take seriously our duty and our privilege around these issues.
We celebrate and encourage the uniqueness and dignity of every individual. We provide an environment wherein individuals can develop their strengths, interests, capabilities and talents. We believe that individuals thrive in environments designed to identify and promote strengths. As such, we create programs, treatment plans, and education plans based on positive reinforcement for successes, large or small.
Our commitment to excellence is witnessed throughout the agency. We routinely question, examine, measure and evaluate our performance, both internally and externally. We continuously seek to improve the quality of services to children, families, staff and the community. We encourage individuals to strive for excellence and growth in their personal and professional lives. We provide a positive, challenging, and supportive work environment for persons who are highly qualified in their area of expertise. We offer and encourage our staff to be actively involved in ongoing professional development. We participate in internal and external workshops, conferences, training, and other types of educational opportunities. We conduct ourselves ethically. We constantly seek knowledge. We base our work, and programs on models of best practice. We embrace the opportunity to share our learning with others.
We are a child-centered community of learners. We are dedicated to lifelong learning. We recognize that individuals learn in different ways. We provide information in a variety of formats designed to positively promote growth and development. We are intentional in our efforts to learn and collaborate with all others in our community. We recognize that we are here for children. The children we serve are central to our thinking and decision-making efforts. By acknowledging that together we are stronger, we affirm our role as a member of The Children's Home community.
EMPOWERMENT OF CHILDREN, FAMILIES, STAFF TO ACHIEVE THEIR POTENTIAL:
We find it critical to empower children, families and staff to achieve their potential. We encourage everyone to set and achieve personal and professional goals. We provide appropriate support to make the achievement of realistic goals a reality for everyone. We are committed to helping each other. We recognize our inherent potential. We protect and promote the development of healthy self-esteem, self-worth and confidence. Individual goal-directed plans for treatment, education, and staff development encourage us to stretch our comfort zones.
We trust the strength of open, honest relationships. We offer and accept constructive feedback and collegial support. We offer and accept help from each other. We accept and encourage our uniqueness, while being cognizant of the need to be united as a community. We model unconditional positive regard for each other at all times.
SUCCESS FOR ALL WHO COME HERE:
As a community, we can achieve success for all who come here. Each person's success will be unique and individual, but will only be realized with the support and participation of the entire Children's Home community. When faced with the inevitable challenges and discord inherent in any community, our values provide direction and support for resolution. Using a team approach, we take responsibility for the success of individuals and of the agency. We will define success individually, specifically, and objectively, so that it can be measured and documented. Success is achieved when our values guide the fulfillment of our Mission and Vision.
